Kraft Heinz is launching a new variety of Lunchables, the popular packaged meal for kids, which includes fresh cut fruits like clementines, apples, pineapples, and grapes. The Lunchables fresh fruit tray will be available in grocery and convenience stores for the back-to-school season, providing a healthier grab-and-go option for parents. Independent retailers should consider stocking up on this new product to meet the growing demand for nutritious and convenient snacks for children.

Lunchables, the beloved packaged meal for kids, is taking a fresh approach to its offerings by introducing a new variety that includes wholesome fruits. For the first time, parents will find fresh-cut fruits like clementines, apples, pineapples, and grapes alongside the usual crackers, cheese, and meat options in Lunchables.

This innovative fresh fruit tray is perfect for parents looking for a healthier grab-and-go option for their children’s lunches. It is specially packed to preserve the freshness of the fruits while ensuring the meat, cheese, and crackers stay fully preserved too. The new Lunchables fresh fruit tray is slightly larger than the traditional ones, offering a generous serving of both fruits and the classic Lunchables components.

While the fresh fruit tray is priced at a premium, ranging from $4 to $4.29, it provides extra food and freshness. Its shelf life is shorter, lasting about 10 days compared to the typical 90 to 110 days for other Lunchables.

Initially, the brand is releasing two varieties โ€“ ham and cheddar, and turkey and cheddar, each paired with one of the four fresh fruit options. The Lunchables fresh fruit tray will be available in select grocery and convenience stores in the South Central region during the back-to-school season, with plans for a national rollout in 2024.

The idea for this healthy twist on Lunchables came about when the brand noticed a significant increase in searches for Lunchables with fruits. As a result, Lunchables partnered with Fresh Del Monte Produce to create this fresh fruit snack tray, responding to the demand for more wholesome options for kids.

While the Lunchables fresh fruit tray is not yet included in school lunch programs this year, Kraft Heinz is actively working on making the kids’ meals more nutritious. In fact, the company recently reduced salt and oil in Lunchables crackers by nearly half, aiming to offer healthier choices to young consumers.

Independent retail store owners should consider stocking up on the new Lunchables fresh fruit tray to cater to health-conscious parents seeking convenient and nutritious snacks for their kids. By providing this wholesome option, retailers can tap into the growing demand for better-for-you products and meet the needs of their community’s families during the back-to-school season and beyond.
